Mission

It is the mission of the Hinkle Memorial Library's Instruction Program to provide effective and engaging assignment-focused instruction based on the Association of College and Research Libraries' Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education in order to help undergraduate students achieve SUNY's Information Literacy Core Competency.

Instruction Policy

It is the policy of the Library Instruction Program to:

  • accommodate instructor and student needs as much as possible;
  • conduct library instruction sessions oriented around class assignments;
  • require professor attendance during librarian presentations.

Please note:

  • library sessions begin on time;
  • students who arrive late are responsibile themselves for catching up, not the librarian;
  • class time is tight, so it's at the librarian's discretion to orient students who arrive late.

Library Classroom

The Library Classroom is Room 129 in the Library. It is straight in the back on the main floor, near the computers and the printers. The classroom has an instructor's station, laptop, overhead display, whiteboard, HoverCam, and 24 student work stations.
